Artificial intelligence is generating a great deal of interest all over the world.

Exponential growth in AI investments is fueling fierce international competition for the acquisition and retention of talent. Developing more talent is fundamental to the success in this revolutionary science.

A growing number of governments understand the importance of the issues at stake and are positioning themselves as mass data providers and future AI users.

The almost limitless potential of this new science raises many questions around responsible AI. Much social dialogue is needed in order to guide fair and equitable public policies.

Over the past few years, we have seen unprecedented collaborative efforts, in Quebec and Canada, to align the many AI development partners, including governments, universities, basic and applied research organizations, as well as industry from start-ups to large enterprises and institutional and financial partners.

This convergence and the financing of numerous large-scale projects have fostered the development of an artificial intelligence ecosystem that is poised to shape the new economy of Quebec and Canada.
