Éric Filion
President
Hydro-Québec Distribution

Éric Filion took office as President of Hydro-Québec Distribution in April 2018. This Hydro-Québec division supplies the Québec market with electricity and delivers reliable power as well as quality services to 4.3 million customers throughout the province. It has 6,000 employees and annual revenue of $12 billion.

Mr. Filion joined Hydro-Québec in 2016 as Vice President – Customers. In addition to customer service, he was responsible for the advanced metering infrastructure, domestic market development and the integration of new technologies into the grid, including solar power and energy storage solutions.

Previously, he spent 20 years in the aerospace industry where he held several operational management positions, notably in engineering, industrial production, procurement and logistics, product development, and customer relations. He worked at CAE Électronique, Pratt & Whitney Canada and Bombardier, where he was Vice President and General Manager for Challenger business aircraft and successfully carried out a two-year assignment in the UK. Over the course of his career, he implemented several lean transformations that resulted in significant business performance improvements.

Éric Filion earned a Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the Royal Military College of Canada and a Master’s in aerospace engineering from Polytechnique Montréal.
