Biography

Hugues Simon

Originally from Saint-Paul-de-l'Île-aux-Noix, in the Montérégie region, Hugues Simon became President and Chief Executive Officer of Cascades in June 2024. He holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from the Université de Sherbrooke. Before joining Cascades, Hugues worked for more than thirty years in key positions in the industry, including finance, mill operations, sales, and strategic planning.

Having grown up on a farm, in a modest family, he received strong values. He learned the importance of hard work and turning every problem into an opportunity to innovate. True to these principles, Hugues values continuous improvement and attaches great importance to frankness and transparency with his employees.

Hugues is also driven by a desire to give back to the community, a commitment that reflects Cascades' philosophy and values. This is why he has been actively contributing to the Fondation Charles-Bruneau for several years. On a personal level, he is a great lover of the outdoors: running, cycling, swimming, telemark, etc. For him, sport is synonymous with balance: "An active life is a life where you perform better!"
