Rana Ghorayeb is President and Chief Executive Officer of Otera Capital, a CDPQ subsidiary specialized in commercial real estate lending with close to $30 billion in assets under management. She is part of CDPQ’s executive committee and she is a board director of MCAP, an Otera subsidiary and one of Canada's largest independent mortgage lenders.
Prior to her appointment at Otera in 2019, Ms. Ghorayeb was Senior Vice-President, Infrastructure Investments at CDPQ where she was responsible for investments and asset management of a portfolio totaling over $23 billion. In this role, she contributed to several major projects, notably in the port sector through DP World, in renewable energy with Invenergy and the London Array offshore wind farm in the United Kingdom, as well as in Eurostar's high-speed rail services connecting London to Paris and Amsterdam, among others.
Prior to that, Ms. Ghorayeb held significant positions in the financial sector, notably as Vice-President, Acquisitions at JP Morgan Asset Management in London where she was responsible for real estate investments in several European countries – including France, Benelux, Switzerland, Ukraine and Finland – and as Associate, Real Estate Acquisitions at TIAA, an important American pension fund and Fortune 100 company, in New York.
Involved in the community, Ms. Ghorayeb is a member of Concordia University's Board of Governors and President of the Montreal chapter of LIFE (Lebanese International Finance Executives).
Recognized for her inspiring leadership, Ms. Ghorayeb has received several distinctions, including the 2022 Inspiration award from the Association of Québec Women in Finance (Association des femmes en finance du Québec – AFFQ), "Alumni of the Year" from New York University and the 2019 Cedar and Maple Award from the Lebanon-Canada Chamber of Commerce.
Ms. Ghorayeb completed a Master of Engineering in Construction Management and a Bachelor of Arts in Urban Planning, both from Concordia University, and she holds a Master of Science in Finance from New York University.
